Haier CPRB08XCJ 8000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner On Sale, Review They forgot one Really Important THING. There is a plug which is not listed like a part on the parts list, or even pointed out within the instructions which needs to be inserted in to the back of the unit. Because it wasn’t mentioned anywhere and it was not in with the parts, but rather sitting unwrapped a the bottom of the box, we didn’t notice it, or place it in. As a result the unit poured water out all over the carpet following only 5 hours use, that carpet was absolutely soaked! After inspecting it, I looked in the box and there, underneath all of the bottom packaging, was the plug. Never mentioned anyplace to make sure it is inserted. Not pointed out at all. Other than that, nice little device. Could be a little colder, but it’s worth not having the window clogged up with a window unit. Good item.

I have a medium sized bedroom and my apartment folks dont permit me to place up a window ac. this 1 is comparable to a window ac and it cools well. There is NO issue with water drainage when it’s just being used as an air conditioner. The unit auto-evaporates as it works. According the the manual you only require to be concerned about drainage when you have it in dehumidifier mode. It’s fantastic not to have a window blocked with an air conditioner box or to worry about taking it out for winter or covering well sufficient to keep out the cold. Things that would enhance this unit: include little screws with nuts instead of sheet metal screws to attach the exhaust conduit towards the plastic window sleeve and toss in the box some standard foam window weather stripping to pad underneath the window-sleeve.

I nevertheless am unable to run the device for more than 3-4 hours before the tank is full and shuts itself off totally. Because I am utilizing this in my bedroom there’s no convenient method to drain the tank without having either completely detaching it from its window fittings and rolling it into my bathroom, or allowing it to drain into pots or pans and carrying them to the kitchen sink. The other night, although I was sleeping, I attempted to just permit the device to drain since it cooled into a spare aluminum casserole pan but the amount of water was so excellent that halfway through the night it had already begun overflowing. I’m going to try to find some rubber hose to fit towards the drainage spout to put out my window, but without elevating the incredibly heavy unit I cant see how it will ever truly drain efficiently. I could forgive this additional inconvenience if the device was effectively cooling my small room, but it’s all around lackluster.

Thirdly I believe calling this air conditioner portable is a little misleading. In order for me to move the device into another room I need to unplug the unit from the wall, disconnect the exhaust hose, unscrew the window fitting to change the size and remove it from my window frame- then transport the device to the other room and refit the exhaust hose and window fittings.
